CUSTOM-MADE TOURS

Tell us what you’d like to experience. You may have been recommended certain attractions and activities or a whole list of wineries from fellow travellers, or be drinking some superb South African wines at home and would like to visit those wineries? Perhaps the historic Cape wine farms where the local industry was born, or some of the latest award winners? Perhaps you are a restaurateur looking to add some South African flavour to your wine list? You also have the option of staying on in the Winelands after your tour to enjoy dinner at one of the award-winning restaurants. And it does not have to be all wine. We will gladly include interesting sites such at Robben Island, Table Mountain and Cape Point or a township tour. Contact us and let’s talk about it.

For our wine tours, we offer you a blank canvas (either full or half day) where you get to tell us who you are, what interests you; your wine style or grape variety preferences as well as any other interest you may have. Eg. you may have a penchant for bubblies (sparkling wines), and that is all you want to taste. Great! We’ll design a tour for you where you visit some of our top Cap Classique houses; Only drink white wine? No problem; You and your travelling companion/s have different tastes? We’ve got you covered; Love food/chocolate/cheese? You will not believe the culinary joys at your fingertips; You want to combine wine and peninsula in one day? No worries; And so on and so on. We are here to design the ultimate experience for you, and our prices are quite reasonable. Please take a look at our What’s To Do in Cape Town page for some ideas.

Besides standard wine tastings at all wineries, you could also opt for any of the following: Cheese and Wine Pairing; Chocolate and Wine Pairing; Salt and Wine Pairing; Canapé and Sparkling Wine Pairing; Food and Wine Pairing; Garden Tour; Boerebraai lunch (typical SA barbeque lunch); Platters celebrating our food heritage for lunch; Gourmet picnics; Cheese tasting; Vineyard Tour Experience in a safari vehicle, and so much more!

Traditional Cape Malay Snacks (learn to fold your own samosas and taste some of the delicious Cape Malay delicacies with a traditional home cook in her brightly coloured historic home in the Cape Quarter; Table Mountain cable car ride; city tour; museums; markets; Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens; sea-kayacking; join the locals for a traditional fish and chips lunch in Kalk Bay harbour and so much more!

Tasting fees:

Tastings are not included in our tour prices, as many visitors are not aware that most wineries do not charge for tastings if they purchase wine at the tasting rooms. We also prefer to give our clients the option to select which tastings they would like to do – where relevant (many tasting rooms offer various tasting options), or often our clients prefer to share a tasting. If we include the tastings in our prices, then our clients would have paid for tastings unnecessarily.

Tasting fees vary from winery to winery, but could be from no charge, R25pp, R60pp up to R100pp or even R250pp (some of these higher fees would be for eg. chocolate and wine pairing, premium wines etc.)
